Shopping Online in Uganda: A Step-by-Step Shopping Guide on the Abanista App

How to Make an Order on Abanista

Shopping on Abanista is easy. You can place an order through Abanista.com using your phone or computer, or through the Abanista mobile app.

Follow the steps below to complete your order.

Option 1: Ordering on Abanista.com

Step 1: Visit Abanista

Open your web browser and go to Abanista.com.

You can shop using your phone, tablet, or computer.

Step 2: Find the Product You Want

There are several ways to find a product:

  • Use the Search bar to search for a specific product.
  • Browse through the Categories.
  • Browse products displayed on the homepage.
  • Explore brands, deals, and other product collections.

For example, if you are looking for a television, search for Samsung TV, 55-inch TV, or another product you're interested in.

Step 3: Open the Product

Click on the product you want to purchase.

Check the product information carefully, including:

  • Product name
  • Price
  • Available options or variations
  • Product specifications
  • Warranty information
  • Availability
  • Delivery information

If the product is available and you would like to purchase it, click Add to Cart.

Step 4: Add More Products if Needed

You can continue shopping and add other products to your cart.

Your cart will keep track of the products you have selected.

When you are ready to order, open your Cart.

Step 5: Review Your Cart

Before checking out, review your order carefully.

Check:

  • Products
  • Quantities
  • Prices
  • Subtotal
  • Discounts or coupons
  • Delivery charges, where applicable
  • Total amount

If you need more than one of an item, adjust the quantity.

If you no longer want an item, remove it from the cart.

If you have a discount code, enter it in the coupon/discount section and apply it.

Step 6: Proceed to Checkout

Once everything in your cart is correct, click:

Proceed to Checkout

You will be taken to the checkout page.

Step 7: Sign In or Create an Account

If you already have an Abanista account, sign in using your account details.

If you are a new customer, create an account when prompted.

If guest checkout is available, you may also be able to complete your order without creating an account.

Having an account makes it easier to manage your orders and view your order history.

Step 8: Enter Your Contact Details

Enter your information carefully.

Depending on the checkout form, this may include:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Make sure your phone number is correct because Abanista may need to contact you about your order or delivery.

Step 9: Enter Your Delivery Address

Enter the address where you want your order delivered.

Provide enough information for the delivery team to locate you easily.

For example:

Location: Kampala
Area: Ntinda
Street: Example Street
Building/Landmark: Near Example Shopping Centre

For upcountry deliveries, include the town, area, and any useful landmark or delivery instructions.

Abanista delivers across Uganda, with delivery times depending on your location and the selected delivery option.

Step 10: Choose Your Delivery or Collection Option

Select the delivery option available for your order and location.

Depending on availability, options may include:

  • Home delivery
  • Delivery to a participating Abanista store
  • Store collection, where available

The available options and charges are shown during checkout.

Step 11: Select Your Payment Method

Choose your preferred payment method from the options displayed at checkout.

Depending on the order and location, available methods may include:

  • Mobile Money
  • Debit/Credit Card
  • Bank Transfer
  • Cash on Delivery, where available
  • Other payment options displayed at checkout

Abanista's published payment information lists card payments, mobile money, bank transfers and cash on delivery among its payment options.

Step 12: Review Your Order

Before placing the order, carefully check everything one final time.

Make sure:

Products: Correct
Quantity: Correct
Delivery address: Correct
Phone number: Correct
Email: Correct
Delivery method: Correct
Payment method: Correct
Total amount: Correct

This is the best time to correct any mistakes.

Step 13: Place Your Order

Once everything is correct, click:

Place Order

If you selected an online payment method, follow the instructions provided to complete your payment.

Step 14: Wait for Your Order Confirmation

After successfully placing your order, you should receive an order confirmation.

Keep your order number because it can be useful when contacting Abanista about your order.

Step 15: Track or Check Your Order

You can check your order status through your Abanista account where available.

If you need assistance with an order, contact Abanista customer support and provide your order number.

Option 2: Ordering Through the Abanista App

The process is very similar on the Abanista mobile app.

Step 1: Open the Abanista App

Open the Abanista app on your Android or iPhone.

Step 2: Search or Browse

Use the search bar or browse through the available categories to find the product you want.

Step 3: Select Your Product

Tap the product to view its:

  • Price
  • Specifications
  • Available options
  • Availability
  • Warranty and other product information

Tap Add to Cart when you are ready to purchase.

Step 4: Open Your Cart

Tap the Cart icon.

Review your products and quantities.

You can also remove products or change quantities before checking out.

If you have a coupon or discount code, apply it where available.

Step 5: Proceed to Checkout

Tap Proceed to Checkout.

Step 6: Sign In or Create an Account

Sign in to your existing Abanista account or create a new account if required.

Step 7: Enter Your Delivery Information

Provide your:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Delivery location
  • Address or landmark

Double-check your phone number and delivery location before continuing.

Step 8: Select Delivery and Payment

Choose the available delivery option and your preferred payment method.

The app will show the applicable order total and available options.

Step 9: Review and Place Your Order

Check your order one final time.

When everything is correct, tap:

Place Order

Complete the payment process if you selected an online payment method.

Step 10: Receive Your Order Confirmation

After the order has been successfully submitted, keep your order confirmation/order number.

Abanista will process your order and provide delivery or collection information as applicable.

Before You Place Your Order

Always check these five things:

1. Product

Make sure you selected the correct product, model, size, colour, capacity, or variation where applicable.

2. Quantity

Make sure you ordered the correct number of items.

3. Phone Number

Use a phone number that you can easily be reached on.

4. Delivery Location

Give a clear location and useful landmark.

5. Payment

Confirm your payment method and the final amount before placing the order.
