Many manufacturers of original products will supply information on who is selling their original products. Is the store you are buying from on the list of authorized dealers?

Ask yourself if there is a realistic price difference between the product you want to buy and the price of the product sold by the original manufacturer. If the price is too good to be true, it is most probably true. Even a small discount may be a red flag, since more counterfeiters are charging almost as much as the real thing in an effort to trick customers.

Use Internet search tools to check whether other consumers have left any good or bad comments about the trader. Read these comments carefully, and keep a critical eye. Also look for reviews on the product you are purchasing.

Check for flimsy packaging, Grammatical & spelling mistakes, Flawed fonts, logos, Omissions & mismatch. Brands generally put their logos on packaging, not just the products. Also look for certifications, use-by dates, and attached warranties, which should arrive with the product. If the product has been opened, is missing a certification or guarantee stamp, if there are no instructions included, do not proceed with purchase.

Before you make your purchase, get familiar with the product’s appearance, including the brand markings and any unique details. Check for spellings, In some cases, you can verify the serial number through the manufacturer’s website. This is common of many original brands today.
